  1. Clinical Features of Hyperprolactinaemia

  3. The symptoms associated with hyperprolactinaemia (Fig. 4.3) may be due to: 
  4. ΓÇó The direct effects of excess prolactin, such as the induction of galactorrhoea or hypogonadism.
  5. ΓÇó The effects of the structural lesion causing the disorder (i.e. the pituitary tumour in hypopituitarism) leading to, for example, headaches, visual field defects, or external ophthalmoplegia.
  6. ΓÇó Associated dysfunction of secretion of other anterior pituitary hormones.
